TIPS from Outfitter in Nepal - MONEY MATTERS

No matter how rich, no-one wishes to throw money in the air and it is only human to ask for the value when you pay for something. Having said that we have been reading a number of posts on travel sites like Trip Adviser from customer dis-satisfied with the way their Holiday in Nepal was arranged or charged. This post is basically aimed to help our clients or clients of any company for that matter on how to ensure you get what you paid for.

As Outfitters | Tour Operators based locally in Nepal, we always suggest choosing the right Travel Company at first. We do NOT claim that you have to choose us, but do some research and dig in before making up your mind. This is the most important part of your travel as having a wrong partner alongside during your Trekking in Nepal could not only be a financial problem but it could invite many other issues too.

Once you make up your mind with a Travel Agent, make sure you know what you are paying for. Tour Operators usually provide you with what is included and what is not included in the amount you pay. Make sure you understand and re-confirm every minor detail with your Outfitter in Nepal. Once you get a clear picture of it, it is time to estimate the cost for what is not included. You can spend some time on internet and find out about these services or goods that you will need to pay on your own while in Nepal. Once again, be prepared, know the approximate prices. Nepal has a bad culture of over-charging to people who do not realize the approximate cost. So whether it be souvenirs or trekking gears, make sure you know the approximate cost.

To ensure that our clients do not get crooked in the market, we have a policy of shopping together. Whatever our clients wish to buy, all they need to do is let us know and one of our crew will take the clients to that shop that sells at the lowest price, in Nepal we generally call it as Wholesale Market. Doing this does not save you a lot of money in terms of Dollars, but it does give you value for your hard earned money and you will not get the feeling of being cheated or crooked. This to us as Outfitters in Nepal, is extremely important. If our clients start getting a feeling of being crooked, it means there is something that we are not doing right. That is the reason why we introduced Shop Together system for our clients. Having said that, if our clients wish to shop on their own, they do have every right to tackle the bargaining market of Nepal on their own, there have been cases when some clients managed to bring the cost down lower than what we could.

There are a number of ways for you as a traveler to save and get the value for your hard earned money while in Nepal. We will keep posting more in the days to come. In the meantime, if you remember and manage to do the few things mentioned above, we are pretty sure you will board your flight back home feeling pleased and NOT crooked. If you wish to read more on about currency of Nepal and estimates of cost of very basic stuff, do visit our site, Money Matters section. It should be helpful.

Happy Saving !
