Looking back at 2014

What a year, 2014

They say "Time Flies" and so it did fly in 2014 as we are already in the last day of 2014 which has indeed been a very adventurous year. We literally had it all in the year 2014, numerous adventure sports were added on to breathtaking Trekking in Nepal experiences of several clients adding that extra zing to their trekking journey. Expeditions and Peak Climbs went well as  well with our clients in a year that was very dangerous to say the least with tragedies in Annapurna Region and Everest Region as well.

Mother Nature did had her blessing on us as we were able to conduct all the trips without fatality and managed to walk away with only minor injuries during the Annapurna Base Camp Trek as well. We would also like to express our heartfelt condolences to those incredible brave Sherpas and Mountaineers who did not make it through that horrifying day. It does remind us about the power Mother Nature has and that we should always respect her. The fact that we do need to have right gears at the right altitude to overcome worst case scenarios was highlighted in a very alarming way this year.

2014 was a great year for Adventure Trekking Nepal. We have never compromised on safety and quality to reduce cost and be more competitive in the market.  We were speculated by many economists for overcharging but we did stand our grounds and managed to end the year without any major losses.

We hope you all had a great year and wish you all the very best for 2015. Thank you all for trusting and choosing us as your local Outfitter in Nepal. We really appreciate that. It really means a lot and we could never thank you enough for your suggestions, recommendation and faith which have kept us going.

  Thank you

Merry Christmas from Nepal

Christmas in Nepal

Still popularly known to many as the "Hindu Kingdom", Nepal does have a very deeply tied relation with Christmas and Christianity in general. Known for peace and harmony among people with different religious beliefs, Nepal has 1.4%  of its population following Christianity according to the census of 2011 and the numbers are multiplying each year.

For a tourist, feeling that they will be left behind from the holiday experience if they get stuck in Nepal during the Christmas Holidays is nothing but a myth. Yes, one will definitely miss his home town and home country, but we Nepalese do have a sense of celebration and one can enjoy the Christmas Eve in the streets of Thamel which is fully decorated with lights and also in the restaurants, clubs and pubs where in environment is electrifying for the Eve. In all the major hotels as well, Christmas Dinner is served and they usually arrange functions and parties during Christmas.

We, being local Outfitter in Nepal, are no different. We embrace customers from all religious beliefs and customs equally. In fact we have always considered ourselves lucky as we get to mingle with people from different cultural beliefs and get a unique opportunity to learn about their culture and traditions first hand.

Trekking in Nepal during the holiday season would definitely make you miss your home town and family but one thing is for sure, you will not miss Christmas and Santa Clause is defibately coming to Nepalese Towns.

  Merry Christmas to everyone !!

Trekking in Nepal - The Forbidden Kingdom

The Kingdom of Mustang formerly known as the Kingdom of Lo and popularly known as The Forbidden Kingdom was inaccessible for centuries and has recently been opened for visitors and tourists. Mustang (from Tibetan Mun Tan (Wylie smon-thang) which means fertile plain) is located in the Northern Central part of Nepal and is the of Adventure Trekking in Nepal experience. Giving an opportunity to get a glimpse of the kingdom, the famous Muktinath Temple and the Sky Caves, the trek in this region of Mustang is one of the finest trekking routes throughout the world.

Upper Mustang, another remarkable landmark of the trek is located in the North of the Mighty Annapurna Mountain and is 4,000 meters above the sea level. The valleys are mostly arid and dry resulting into numerous caves dwelling up in the cliffs which are full of myths and history. If one is seeking to see undisturbed Tibetan Culture, Trekking to Upper Mustang is the ideal trek as due to its proximity, the land and its people have preserved the culture.

The Trekking to Mustang Region follows established trails through numerous villages that once served as the trade route between Nepal and Tibet. The whole trekking route is home to impressive chortens and simple monasteries which reflect the abiding Buddhist culture and one will feel like going back in time while travelling through these trials all along the villages. The terrain is flanked by snowy peaks making every moment of the trek even more special.  The highlight of this incredible Trekking in Nepal Experience is the visit to Lo Manthang (The Forbidden Kingdom) where the King of Mustang still reigns over his tiny kingdom.

We as outfitters in Nepal not only serve our clients but do a lot of travelling ourselves. We have uploaded a lot of pictures from our recent trip to the Kingdom on our facebook  page. Feel free to check them out.

If those images will not excite you, I am not sure what will ?

Well then, lets make a trip to the Forbidden Kingdom in the Spring of 2015 and allow AdventureTrekking Nepal an opportunity to be your local outfitter. You will relish every minute of the trip !

We are back !!

To all of you who were wondering where did we disappear, there is some good news and some bad.

Lets start with the bad ones, we did never feel like coming back to work. Travelling was so much better and so much fun. We did have difficulties on the road, the trek was a tough one and we did battle a lot. Not to forget the food at times, did not enjoy them much but had to swallow as nutrition was indeed necessary for us to keep going.

No the good part. No words could explain the feeling of travelling to the best trek area of Nepal. It was majestic. The Holy Muktinath Temple, Mustang, meeting with the Prince of The Forbidden Kingdom, Manang, Thorong-la Pass, Sky Caves of Mustang ..... it was just incredible. Not to forget the night spent at Tilicho Lake. Breathtaking, to say the least.

Trekking in Nepal is a pleasure and Outfitting Trekking in Nepal is simply not good enough for us. We have to do it so that we can share our feeling with our clients and let them know precisely what to expect of the trek.

Will keep posting more pictures and events of the trek but for now sit back, relax and enjoy the album in our facebook page of the trip. These are just the first round of pictures.

MORE WILL FOLLOW !!

Logistics and Local Outfitters in Nepal

It has always been said, for a great trip "Pack Light but Pack right" and it does stand true for travelers. What happens if we, being the Local Outfitter in Nepal, start packing light as well? Not a great idea huh! As Outfitters, for us having the right stuff at the right height is the key to great expedition or trekking in Nepal experience.

Make sure to check the Trip Requirements section of our website to ensure that you do your packing right. Leave the logistics to us and sit back to watch and enjoy the way we move things around at different height to ensure you have a great experience of expedition or trekking in Nepal.

We have been doing it day in and day out. With right people and right warehouses at the right altitude, we have remained efficient, effective and economic throughout these years. When it comes down to logistics for expeditions, nothing is more challenging. Dashain Festival in Nepal

TIKA AND JAMARA

The whole country of Nepal celebrating the Dashain Festival, by far the most significant and important festival in Nepal and all Hindu Countries. Dashain is the longest festival in Nepal lasting for 15 days in total and the most anticipated one as well. Dashain commemorates the victory of Good over Evil.

This great festival falls in September or October starting from the Bright Lunar Fortnight of the month of Ashwin and ending on the Full Moon Day and hence lasing for 15 days of celebration and happiness among the Nepalese people. Among the fifteen days of celebration, the most significant days are the First Day (Ghatasthapana), Seventh Day (Phulpati), Eighth Day (Maha Aastami), Nineth Day (Maha Nawami) and the Tenth Day (Dashami / Tika).

Throughout the festival Goddess Durga is worshiped and all nine forms of Goddess Durga have very important roles during the festival. Throughout Nepal innumerable pujas (worships) are conducted with abundant offerings and thousands of animal sacrifices for the ritual to drench the Goddess for days in blood.

Nepalese from all over the globe travel to Nepal to be with their family during the festival. This has added to the significance of this great festival as the departed come together for the festival and the airports along with local buses are flooded with  commuters who seek to be home with their family for the festival. The most significant day of Tika is the day when younger members of the family visit older members and take blessings and TIKA on their forehead from the elders.

This great festival has been celebrated in Nepal from ages and as Outfitters in Nepal we hope the traditions and cultures continue to prosper among the youth and younger generations as without these cultures we will loose our identity and fade away.

Adventure Trekking Nepal family would love to  wish all Nepalese throughout the world a very Happy and Prosperous Dashain.

Outfitter in Nepal - SERVICES - Motor Bike Trips

Being an Outfitter in Nepal, we have a lot on the menu for out clients as our Services in Outfitting ranges from Hiking to Expeditions and Trekking to Adventure Sports. Among them all, Motor Bike Trips are done by very few people. The reason is simple, roads in Nepal are not of the highest standards and experience in riding is a must for these trips. Sharp and narrow turns on the roads of Nepal make riding difficult at times.

As Tour Operators, we do NOT recommend Motor Bike Trips to people with no experience in riding and people who seek luxury while travelling on the road. Roads in Nepal are bumpy to say the least. Dust and mud will be your partner throughout the ride and the local drivers in Nepal are not known for their hospitality or kindness as well. Also one must not forget the traffic in Kathmandu Valley and on the highway as well. There are times when you will take hours to do a kilometer due to heavy traffic.

Having said it all, there are riders who simply love to ride in Nepal. YES it is not the road that they love, it is the beauty that surrounds the road. It is the wilderness all along the highway, the virgin forests, panorama of mountains, small hotels and resorts along the way located in picturesque places and lastly the fresh air that one breaths once out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

As Outfitters, we conduct short bike trips lasting a day or two and real ling ones some lasting a month as well. The places you could travel to on a bike are endless, Kathmandu Valley itself has a lot to offer like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Nagarkot, Shiva Puri Hill are just to name a few. Some of these places are listed down as the UNESCO World Heritage Places and one will relish every moment spent in these places.

Once outside the Kathmandu Valley, one can opt for Namche Bazzar Trip, Trips to the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, and Pokhara Valley. With a bike in good condition and a experienced member of our team as your guide, you can simply go where the roads take you. No matter which direction you take, one thing is for sure in Nepal, you will never be far away from Mother Nature's Wilderness, Serenity and Panorama of the Himalayas.

Breathtaking scenery will be your travel partner along with our experienced guide throughout the trip. Periodic stops, spares, repair tools, fooding arrangements and night stays are very well taken care of by our Management Team so that one can be feel free and enjoy the ride once the team hits the road. With our Outfitting Experience in Nepal, we arrange Motor Bike Trips that on will never forget in his/her life. This indeed is a great way to explore Nepal and its wilderness.

Lets hit the road !

Outfitter in Nepal - SERVICES - Cycling

If you are into Eco-Tourism and stuff, Nepal is your place to be and we are the Outfitters in Nepal for you that could arrange the trip just the way you want it. From local sightseeing mountain bike trips to YAK ATTACK, Nepal has it all. Simply put Nepal has way too many options for any lover of cycling.

As Outfitters in Nepal, we have been arranging cycling trips as short as a day within the valley to a month all the way up in the Himalayas. To name a few, we arrange Cycling Trips to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Lumbini, Shivapuri National Park, Namche Bazzar, and Pokhara Valley.  These were just the top ones but be sure you know what you seek because once in Nepal, one is likely to get puzzled choosing a Cycling Trip as there are way too many options to choose from.

Cycling around the Kathmandu Valley has a charm of its own. Being able to cycle into the wild and with a panorama if the Himalayas in sight most of the times, one does not have to travel far away to enjoy what Nepal has to offer to Cyclists. Cycling can also be considered as a add on to your trip, if you are Trekking in Nepal and you have a spare day or two, as Outfitters in Nepal, we would suggest participating in some adventure sport or going for a short cycling trip. This is a great way to utilize your time and get a closer look at the places within and around the valley.

Cycling up in the Himalayas has beauty if its own and presents an experience that could never be matched by anything else. There are challenges associated as well with cycling at such high altitude. We strongly recommend our clients to go through Physical Tests before attempting such demanding Cycling trips.

Cycling in Nepal | Travelling around on a Mountain Bike is one of the best ways to get a closer look at this beautiful and majestic country. With great views at all times, while cycling, we strong advise our clients to focus on the trial and roads along with the view. Specially when cycling in and around Kathmandu Valley, one has to be very cautious and careful as roads and narrow, proper cycling lanes are not available and drivers tend to give low priority to cycles at times. To be safe, it is always recommended to have one of our experienced Cyclist with you at all times.

Saving the plant earth is our responsibility and we citizens of Kathmandu have been trying to make Kathmandu a "Cycle City". If you enjoy cycling and have passion for pedals, visit Nepal for a Cycling Trip with us and you will relish every moment of it.

Keep Pedaling !!

It is only human to love you friends and family and relish their company. When you travel, having people you know around yourself makes that trip or trek even more special and memorable. One relishes the company of known ones as once into the wild and wilderness of an unknown terrain, having someone besides you who can speak the same language and you can share your feeling with make a huge difference at the end of the day.

As Outfitter in Nepal we always promote big group trips for peak climbs, expeditions, adventure sports and trekking in Nepal. It is a great way to travel and enjoy yourself during the trip. On top of that, one can save a good amount of money while travelling in groups. Accommodation, transportation, fooding and everything else eases off in price when done in groups. Local sightseeing and even going to a pub or club at night becomes all that more entertaining when you are surrounded with your friends and family. Just your stay at the hotel becomes more fun with someone you know around you.

If you seek to travel to Nepal in the days to come for Trekking in Nepal experience or any other adventure you wish to indulge, spread the news around and see who else is interested. You won't regret having someone from your hometown besides you. Ya it does not always stand true, and some people simply do not entertain at all but instead become pain in the back side. So be careful while picking up your travel partner and make sure you do not pick one up who needs to be dumped in the wilderness somewhere up  in the Himalayas.

Happy Travelling !!

Outfitter in Nepal’s’ Recommendation: MOUNTAIN FLIGHT

So you are in Nepal or planning to travel to Nepal with very limited time and are utterly disappointed that you are having to fly back home after coming such a long way without even getting a glimpse of the Himalayas and Might Mount Everest, the highest point on planet Earth. You are reading your solution if you are stuck in such dilemma.

For sure we would recommend Trekking in Nepal if you had more time and Everest Base Camp Trek to be precise but since time is not on your side and you have to get back to your daily life back home, we as Outfitter in Nepal will literally bring the Himalayas and Mount Everest to you.

As Outfitters based in Nepal, we have conducted and continue to conduct Mountain Flight Tours on a daily basis to ensure that you do not return back disappointed having crossed oceans just to get here.  As a Travel Company in Nepal, we do have very good co-operation with all flight operators and we will ensure that you board the plane and enjoy the magical view of the Himalayas from high above. This breathtaking panoramic flight can also be added on to your Trekking in Nepal adventure at the expense of just a single extra day.

After taking off from Kathmandu, you will start feeling wonderful right from the start. As the aircraft lifts itself up and heads towards the East, you won’t have to wait too long to find out what is in store for you. The mountains you will come across are simply put majestic and the panorama can never be explained in words or even pictures. You will have to see t yourself to feel the magic.

Gosaithan,  Dorje Lakpa , Phurbi-Ghyachu, Choba-Bhamare, Mount Gauri-Shankar,  Melungtse, Chugimago, Mount Numbur, Karyolung, Cho-Oyu, Gyanchungkang,  Pumori , Nuptse are some of the mountains you will see during the flight. Seeing all these beautiful, significant and staggeringly tall mountains from right above them is a pleasing and soothing sight.

Mount Everest standing tall at the height of 8,848 meters is your final sight. Much has already been written and viewed about Everest, but to actually witness it face to face right in front of you during a mountain flight is something incredible. Even while it looms there in front of the eyes, it remains an enigma, this highest spot on the planet earth.

As Tour Operators and Outfitter in Nepal, the sight of the Himalayas from right above them is priceless and that pleasing smile on our clients’ face having seen it all to us is priceless. Outfitter in Nepal - RECOMMENDATION - Muktinath Trek

As Outfitter in Nepal, it is by now needless to state that Trekking in Nepal is by far the most popular tourist activity and Trekking to Muktinath is the most popular trek in Nepal among all others. This unique, natural and cultural trek to the Holy Muktinath Temple offers one with a unique opportunity to look into the Hindu Culture, indulge with Mother Nature and enjoy unspoiled natural beauty.

Situated at the foot of the Thorung la Mountain pass at an altitude of 3,710 meters, Muktinath is one of the most sacred of Hindu pilgrimages. Its name refers to “liberation” and it is widely believed that visiting this temple redeems a person from their sins. There are 108 water taps in this temple and they are considered to be holy. Devotees can be found taking baths in these taps despite the freezing temperature.

The river flowing from Muktinath to the Kali Gandaki River is the source for the Shaligramas; black ammonoid fossils considered holy and are required to establish a temple for the creator of Hindu belief, Vishnu. Because of the religious importance, this temple receives a lot of domestic as well as international tourists every year.

The trek to Muktinath is found to be fairly easy by most of the trekkers as opposed to other difficult routes of the Himalayas. Because of the low altitude, it is almost impossible to experience altitude sickness and hence it can provide you with a good adventure of trekking in Nepal. This trek provides you some of the most spectacular views on the planet in their untainted form. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Macchapuchre mountains peek at the trekkers all along the route. You can see villages inhabited by ethnic groups in regular intervals. Trekkers will be subjected to a trail that goes from low land forests to the dreary wastelands of upper Kali Gandaki. As Tour Operator | Outfitter in Nepal for the region, we recommend this Trekking in Nepal experience if you seek to get insight of Hindu Religion and wilderness of Mother Nature.

It is astonishing to many tourists that people still live in such remote areas only approachable by foot. On the route, trekkers will meet many locals hauling food, water or other necessities back to their small villages. The people, however, are exceptionally well-mannered and treat the people passing by with respect. The tea houses and lodges placed in villages are a good place to rest and get accustomed to the culture of the Himalayas. The walk downhill is arduous but once you reach Muktinath, you will find yourself in a tranquil state.

Outfitter in Nepal SERVICES - PEAK CLIMB

Outfitter in Nepal: BLISSFUL JOB

Being a Outfitter in Nepal is a bliss and as we have been blessed with Eight of the Highest Peaks in the World. It is not just the Himalayas, the country has a very diverse landscape. Terai Belt (The Flat Land), Hilly Region (Lush Green Hills) and the Mountain Region make Nepal a unique place with the highest point on the planet rising a staggering 8,848 meters above sea level.

All these mountains come melting down in the forms of rivers and white water sports like rafting, kayaking and beach sports can be enjoyed to the fullest. Also High Ground Sports on the Mountains like skiing are indeed very popular throughout the world.

Nepal is not just about the Himalayas and Snow. As Outfitter in Nepal, we have a lot more to offer. Trekking, Zip-Flyer, Safari, Paragliding are just to name a few. Nepal is also home to many UNESCO World Heritage Centers and these sights have some of the most ancient cultures and architecture of the country. One can indulge in their beauty and also enjoy modern restaurants and cafes within the premises to sit back and relax.

Having the opportunity to showcase Nepal among people from different countries, cultures and religious beliefs is what we enjoy the most as Outfitter in Nepal. This is our dream and we are living it to the fullest. It not only gives us satisfaction but also a feeling of contributing.

It is not that Nepal needs any introduction to the world, but we do state very proudly that we have changed  a few minds and their thoughts about Nepal. One mind at a time, and we will always thrive for our goal to let more people know about this breathtaking country blessed by Mother Nature like none other.

As Outfitter in Nepal, we take it as our responsibility and will travel that extra mile day in and day out to ensure that our clients have a memorable time in Nepal and enjoy the treks, expeditions, peak climbs and adventure sports in a safe and well managed manner. Satisfaction of clients is our ultimate goal and the smile after their trek is what inspires us the most.

Thank you Mother Nature for blessing us with an opportunity to work as Outfitter in Nepal.

Outfitter in Nepal’s’ Recommendation: BUNGEE JUMP

If you feel like you've got what it takes to challenge Sir Newton and his Laws of Gravity, Nepal is your place to be. Trust us and our Outfitting Experience in this one, the jump on offer here in Nepal is a spectacular one with wilderness all around you.

As Outfitter in Nepal, Bhote Koshi River has a great significance and importance to us, the locals, the whole country and the tourism industry. Being one of the most accessible rives due to its proximity (nearness) from Kathmandu Valley, river sports like Rafting, Kayaking, Beach Volley Ball and so are are very popular in the Bhote Koshi River.

While talking about the JUMP itself, just picture yourself surrounded by wilderness, standing on the EDGE of a shaking suspension bridge, your body being moved by the wind back and forth against your will, and a raging angry river down below roaring. Then the moment of truth arrives and you jump off.

The location, the river, the bridge, the resorts everything related to this spectacular location and this breathtaking sport is simply amazing. There is no ways on Earth that ANY Outfitter in Nepal would NOT recommend this high ground adventure sport to everyone. This is a MUST do if you seek thrill and adrenaline rush.  As Outfitters, we DO NOT recommend this sport to any clients with heart diseases or blood pressure issues or mental issues. Safety is our first priority and will never be compromised.

This adventure can be added on to any Trekking in Nepal experience with just a additional couple of days. If one seeks to combine other adventure sports like Rafting, Kayaking along with Bungee Jump, the same river, Bhote Koshi serves them all and one can save a lot of time.

As outfitters and lovers of adventure and with passion for thrill, it is a highly regarded and recommended sport for visitors to our wonderful country.

Outfitter in Nepal’s’ Recommendation: PARAHAWKING

Do not even try looking “Parahawking” in the dictionary, you won’t find it there. You will have to travel all the way to the land of the Himalayas, Nepal, and then to a majestic city of Nepal, Pokhara Valley, in order to understand and experience Parahawking.

Flying in the air of Pokhara is a lifetime experience on its own with stunning panoramic views of three 8,000 meter peaks (Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna and Mount Manaslu). With the Fewa Lake below you and a beautiful reflection of Mount Machhapuchre on the surface of the lake, the flight is something one will never forget in his / her life. The sight of gorgeous Pokhara Valley from way above is stunning and one will relish every second spent in the air.

When you add a hawk flying next you during the flight, the experience turns into an adventure. The Hawk will literally feed off your hands during the flight. You will not only see the other side of this bird which is often feared for all the wrong reasons, but also experience something magical. The moment when the hawk lands on your hand and feeds off your outstretched hand, you will feel incredible. These hawks have been trained to do so and you will even get an opportunity to see how they control themselves in the air to land on your hand and take off again. The hawk will come down challenging you, as if saying "You think you know how to fly, take a look at my skills".

This great experience can be added on to any Trekking in Nepal or other activities with additional two days at the max. You can even have the luxury of taking photos and videos during the flight. You flight is very well geared with cameras and recorders which will take videos and pictures from the best possible angles. This way you will be able to share your experience with your friend and family. Here is a VIDEO that will make you feel like taking off right now.

So, if you do feel like taking off for a flight with Hawk as you co-pilot and a very well trained and experienced pilot, do let us know. We will arrange it for you in no time at all.

Enjoy the flight folks!

Trekking in Nepal - Outfitter's Choice

Trekking in Nepal, by far, is the most popular activity that all tourists coming into Nepal indulge themselves in. Why is Trekking in Nepal so popular? If you have wondered about that, here are some reasons why.

i) The Himalayas:
With the Highest Point on planet earth located in Nepal in the form of Mount Everest, it is no wonder that people want to take a closer look at the Mighty Everest. To do so , many options are available like Mountain Flights, Chopper Flights and so on. But nothing compares to Trekking to Everest Base Camp to be in the lap of Mount Everest. In the same way, Trekking in Nepal is popular due to the fact that 8 out of 10 highest peaks of the world are located in The Himalayas of Nepal and trekking to those areas is a majestic feeling one can get only in Nepal.

ii) Altitude Range:
Nepal might be the only country that has the deepest river in the form of Seti River and the highest peak of the world, Mount Everest. The altitude range is staggering. Though it makes trekking difficult as one has to get acclimatized but one also gets the opportunity to travel from a place below sea level to 8,848 meters above the sea level. This wonderful experience takes one through the plains, to hills and then to mountains making the Trekking in Nepal experience unique as compared to any other trekking destinations.

iii) Base Camp Treks:
As Outfitters in Nepal, we operate treks to Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Makalu Base Camp, Dhaulagiri Base Camp, Manaslu Base Camp, Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek and more. These delightful treks presents one lacking climbing experience to get closed to these staggeringly tall mountains and get the feeling of being there. Right on the lap of these giants. Base Camp Treks is also a great opportunity to meet climbers and mountaineers who dare to climb to the top.

iv) Flora and Fauna:
With such diverse altitude, Nepal offers some of the widest range of Flora and Fauna on planet earth. In the flat lands of Terai Belt, one can relish the dense forests and explore the Flora and Fauna there in forms of Jungle Safari or Wildlife Excursions. Once in the Hilly area, the whole setup changes, one sees different species of plants and animals. When up in the mountains, everything changes as the freezing temperature is not very friendly for plants and animals. There are interesting ranges of plants and animals in the mountains as well that manage to tackle the freezing temperatures and survive.

v) Cultural Diversity:
Trekking in Nepal takes one through many villages and cultures. One will come across many languages and dialects while trekking in Nepal. From the famous Tharu Culture down in the flat lands of Terai Belt to the world Famous Sherpa Culture right up in the mountains, a trekker in Nepal gets to experience them all. Making Trekking in Nepal adventurous and knowledgeable as well.

These were some of the most important reasons, there are many more Way too many for one to put in writing and explain them all. You will have to find out more yourself, visit Nepal and go for Trekking in Nepal, one thing is for sure, you will not return disappointed. As Tour Operators | Outfitters in Nepal, we highly recommend Trekking in Nepal to every client we come across. Trekking in Nepal is a lifetime experience one simply can not afford to miss while in Nepal.

TIPS from Outfitter in Nepal - MONEY MATTERS

No matter how rich, no-one wishes to throw money in the air and it is only human to ask for the value when you pay for something. Having said that we have been reading a number of posts on travel sites like Trip Adviser from customer dis-satisfied with the way their Holiday in Nepal was arranged or charged. This post is basically aimed to help our clients or clients of any company for that matter on how to ensure you get what you paid for.

As Outfitters | Tour Operators based locally in Nepal, we always suggest choosing the right Travel Company at first. We do NOT claim that you have to choose us, but do some research and dig in before making up your mind. This is the most important part of your travel as having a wrong partner alongside during your Trekking in Nepal could not only be a financial problem but it could invite many other issues too.

Once you make up your mind with a Travel Agent, make sure you know what you are paying for. Tour Operators usually provide you with what is included and what is not included in the amount you pay. Make sure you understand and re-confirm every minor detail with your Outfitter in Nepal. Once you get a clear picture of it, it is time to estimate the cost for what is not included. You can spend some time on internet and find out about these services or goods that you will need to pay on your own while in Nepal. Once again, be prepared, know the approximate prices. Nepal has a bad culture of over-charging to people who do not realize the approximate cost. So whether it be souvenirs or trekking gears, make sure you know the approximate cost.

To ensure that our clients do not get crooked in the market, we have a policy of shopping together. Whatever our clients wish to buy, all they need to do is let us know and one of our crew will take the clients to that shop that sells at the lowest price, in Nepal we generally call it as Wholesale Market. Doing this does not save you a lot of money in terms of Dollars, but it does give you value for your hard earned money and you will not get the feeling of being cheated or crooked. This to us as Outfitters in Nepal, is extremely important. If our clients start getting a feeling of being crooked, it means there is something that we are not doing right. That is the reason why we introduced Shop Together system for our clients. Having said that, if our clients wish to shop on their own, they do have every right to tackle the bargaining market of Nepal on their own, there have been cases when some clients managed to bring the cost down lower than what we could.

There are a number of ways for you as a traveler to save and get the value for your hard earned money while in Nepal. We will keep posting more in the days to come. In the meantime, if you remember and manage to do the few things mentioned above, we are pretty sure you will board your flight back home feeling pleased and NOT crooked. If you wish to read more on about currency of Nepal and estimates of cost of very basic stuff, do visit our site, Money Matters section. It should be helpful.

Happy Saving !

Trekking in Nepal - Kathmandu Valley Trek

A wise man once said "I found more temples and monasteries in Kathmandu Valley than houses." It might not stand true today, but the fact remains that Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, has something to offer for everyone. Be it people seeking to get a glimpse of history and culture of Nepal, or young party lovers looking to spend some time in pubs and clubs. This beautiful valley offers everything in the menu.

There are a lot of places that could be of your interest. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square are all listed in UNESCO's World Heritage List. It goes without saing that these places reflect the rich cultural and religious history of the valley. Facilitated with modern restaurants and cafes, one can spend days on these places. The architecture and carvings on these places along with temples take you centuries back and leaves one wondering how on earth did they manage to create such a wonder.

Kathmandu Valley Trek can be made by those who lead a normal active life and stay at office most of the times without mush adventure. The trail is usually not steep, and you will walk around 4-5 hours a day. This trek doesn't require any health condition and great views of mountains will come all along the trek. Not everyone has the time, drive, or stamina to make a trek into the Himalayas. This should not be a reason for feeling like you have missed out on some of the unique things that Nepal has to offer, specially Trekking in Nepal.

In fact, many visitors to Nepal leave for the mountains a little too quickly and never enjoy the treasures closer at hand. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and major city in the Kathmandu Valley, is replete with unique buildings, temples, sites and smells. But there are also other cities and many other temples, all within easy walking distance of downtown Durbar Square at the center of Kathmandu.

Patan, just to the South of Kathmandu and almost an extension of it, is considered the most "Buddhist" populated city of the valley's three principal center namely Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The city of Bhaktapur which is to the East is the most "medieval." Both have a feel similar to that of Kathmandu's, but without the population density and frenetic tourist pace.

Among the temples in the valley, Swayambhunath (also called Monkey Temple for the hordes of monkeys living in its shadow) is the closest. A quick jaunt to the west of the capital, it is on top of a hill and enjoys generous views of the surroundings. The most famous temple in Nepal, Pashupatinath, cannot be visited by non-Hindus but you can still wonder around the temple within meters of the main statue of Lord Shiva and get a first-hand view of the cultural and religious beliefs. That said, the setting, on the holy Bagmati River just to the east of Kathmandu, is very peaceful.

Boudh Nath, one of the biggest stupas in the world, is two kilometers through some hectic traffic further to the east, and can be visited in the same day. The stupa of Lord Buddha in itself is majestic to say the least. Changunarayan, a two-hour walk from Bhaktapur is visited by few foreigners, and Nagarkot, a town four hours from Bhaktapur, has some of the best Himalayan views in the area.

There is so much more. I simply could never jolt it down in a blog. Cycling around the valley is always a great activity and if you have riding experience, you could enjoy all the major destinations of the valley in no time. You could also go for treks around the hills that surround the valley, there are also National Parks very near by.

Last but not least, Thamel, a heave for tourists where one can do shopping, buy souvenirs, enjoy great diverse food, chilled beers at pubs with live music and clubbing at night is always great.

With so many options in the valley itself, it is very rude not to give this great place a chance. Do spare a couple of days for sightseeing and quick trekking around the valley. If you do not, you will be left thinking I was a couple of kilometers from World Heritage Centers and I never went there. Kathmandu Valley is a great place to be and with the only International Airport of the country, most of the visitors start their Nepal Experience from the valley itself. So, if you are planning a trip to Nepal, make sure you have a couple of days for the Kathmandu Valley Trek, do keep in mind that the trek does not need to be of 8 days at all times, depending on your time we can reduce it down.

See you in Nepal.
Cheers!
