Annapurna Base Camp; located at 4100 meters, is one of the
most popular hiking trails worldwide. The physically demanding route is
moderately challenging. For a normal person, it does not cause any problems.
However, steep hills cause joint strain injury for uninformed.
The paths are wide and the hills have spacious stairways.
Further up, the trail becomes narrow and in some places gets wet and rocky. The
route does not pass through the snow or glacier, so the normal hiking skills
can get you through this trail.
About 80 percent of the Annapurna Base Camp trekkers take
guides with them. Guide often carry the customer's equipment or pay separately
for a porter. If you don’t want to carry backpacks and cope with the route, you
can have someone carry your bags for you. Hiring a guide is highly recommended
if you are trekking this trail for the first time.
A good guide is very useful: they take care of your meals
and hotels during the peak season. Guides reserve the appropriate locations
with a mobile phone in advance. Your daily tactics are to leave early and stop
early, so that you can have beds in inns when you need to rest. You can get
good trekking outfitters in Nepal; pre booking is recommended when the trekking
season reaches its peak.
Equipment according to your needs like hiking boots and
water are carried on a backpack with a change of clothes, hygiene supplies, and
first aid kit. Sleeping bag is a small and lightweight. Even if the bottom is
hot, the night temperatures go below zero degrees - ponds can be found frozen in
the morning.
The route usually takes eight to ten days. You have to walk
for a week in a nice pace. You can avoid rushing after you reach 3000 meters,
because that gives you altitude sickness.
The trip is a memorable one. The route is uplifting and you
can meet wonderful people from all over the world in the mountains. One of the
best adventures in Nepal is to conquer the Annapurna circuit.
